Once used by stagecoaches to cut through the rugged Superstition Mountains, the Apache Trail offers some of Arizona’s most awe-inspiring scenery. They are, of course, the Alps, and when it comes to mountainous self-drive adventures, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is surely the ‘daddy’ of them all -- a 'must' on .
