Norfolk plans Jubilee celebrations

Norfolk in the UK is promoting several events to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee this year, which will take place over the extended weekend of June 2-5.

With it’s proud thousand year association with the monarchy, Norfolk is a royal county, with Sandringham, the queen’s private home in west Norfolk, near King’s Lynn.

At Sandringham Estate, an exhibition that will appeal to dog-lovers will highlight the Queen and her great-grandmother Queen Alexandra's attachment to their dogs. using paintings, drawings, photographs, cartoons and other items from the private apartments.

The Queen's attachment to corgis and dorgis is well known. Queen Alexandra kept dogs of many breeds ranging from tiny pekingese to tall and graceful Russian borzois.
